What is Art Night?

Art Night is London’s all-night free contemporary art festival. Each year, Art Night invites a leading cultural institution or curator to explore the history, culture and architecture of a different part of London, inspiring a series of new commissions, one off events and premieres by international and local artists from all stages of their careers.

Art Night is a registered charity no. 1164449 under the name ArtCity Nights.

Is the festival suitable for children and families?

Yes, this event is suitable for families and individuals of all ages — however, some events may include viewer discretion notices. please see the individual page for each artist for more information.

Do I need a ticket to enter?

The event is free to attend and you do not need a ticket, just turn up.

Will I have to queue?

There might be queues for entry during peak times (7pm–10pm), at some smaller venues.  Art Night Guides will be on hand across the trail throughout the night and can advise on waiting times — there will always be several other events or exhibitions to visit nearby.

Will the projects all be indoors?

Projects for Art Night are presented in a variety of spaces—both indoor and outdoors. Visitors should come prepared for all weather conditions as well walking through historic buildings and unusual sites.

Can I take my bag with me?

Large bags are not permitted in any venues, and there are no cloakroom facilities available on the trail. Please avoid bringing large items with you.

Can I take photos?

Yes. Photography without flash is allowed in the exhibitions/projects.

Can I take food and drink with me?

No, visitors are not allowed to eat or drink in venues. Bringing alcohol into venues is strictly prohibited, and bag searches will be in operation. Several venues have bars and restaurants on site or nearby which will be open until late.

Can I bring my dog to the exhibition?

Assistance dogs are welcome in all venues.

Where can I report or collect lost and found items?

Please report lost items to any Venue or Security staff. Any found items will be returned to the Art Night Office after the event for collection, email hello@artnight.london for more information.

Noise

Art Night takes place across urban areas, so please respect our neighbours by arriving and leaving quietly and not dropping litter.

Will i be filmed?

Most performances will be filmed or photographed. By participating, you consent to your likeness being used in any video, photography or audio materials of the event and waive the rights to the usage of these materials. Please speak to a member of staff if you have any concerns.

I am a local resident, how do I contact Art Night?

Please log any comments or concerns on the evening of the event on www.walthamforest.gov.uk or call us on 0208 496 3000. Your feedback will be logged and passed on to the relevant team who will be in touch with you directly.
